Yes, it does hurt. And it’s hard to not let it infuriate. Breathe.
This is a major way in, but we also need to learn more about how the defense and related industries–and international contracts and investments as diplomatic dividends–play into a systemic dedication of resources to war. How much of our money has a tangible referent apart from these investment structures in post-gold economies?
The environment seems to offer a compelling force that may finally make nations be concerned about something more than posturing, defense and concessions… but of course environmental factors only exacerbate the pressures that have led to war in the past…
Oy… breathe…
