Last Day for Votes and Comments

I don’t wait for moods. You accomplish nothing if you do that. Your mind must know it has got to get down to work.
~ Pearl S. Buck

In case you missed it and are wondering what on Earth is going on here, I have committed to writing an e-book in 30 days. And because it is for you, my blog visitors, I have asked for your votes to help me choose the content for this Contentpalooza Challenge.

Here’s the tally as of right this moment, including emails, Facebook votes and votes here (with my best efforts to eliminate duplicates!):

  • Money Magic: 8
  • Beth’s Guide to the Tarot: 11
  • A Year and a Day with the Elements: 10
  • The Magical Year (Sabbats and Esbats): 3
  • A Year of Grace: 7
  • Your Tarot Profile: 7
  • The Shining Ones/Faeries: 8
  • The Dark Mother Goddess: 9
  • Other single votes: Learning to Trust Your Intuition; Herbal Magic; Witchcamp; Working with the Guardians

So, this is your last call for coming out of lurk mode and sharing your views.   Only a few hours are left and then I am on my way!

Are there one or more of the topics listed you would like to vote on?  And remember – write-ins are welcome, too!

I’ll let you know tomorrow morning who the winner is! And then the real fun begins!  Woooo!

Thanks, everyone!

  1. The Dark Mother Goddess(s), #2 A Year of Grace, #3 A Year and a Day with the Elements……Money Magick is also worth looking into. Looking so forward to seeing what you come up with. Blessings.

  2. Votes AND comments, comment first 🙂 While I would enjoy most, if not all, of these I’m wondering about the relative “complexity’ and depth of some of these topics for a 30 day, 80-100 pg book. Surely Beth’s Guide to the Tarot is a much larger tome. LOL

That said, and without any implication that these are not complex subjects, The Elements, Money, or an intro to the Magical Year (or the elements thru the Magical year!) might be a preferred ‘beginning’ project.

Looking forward to whatever you’re guided to!
(So maybe you should pull a card? she asked in the yiddisha mama voice )

  3. Ah! Good point, Della! Actually, I don’t think it would be that long..

My vision for the Tarot book is NOT all about Tarot, how to get started, etc. etc., but instead a compilation of what I’ve written about each card over the hundreds of weeks I’ve been doing them here. And of course for the cards that have never turned up (yes, there could be a couple!), I would of course create those!

    Does this change anybody’s vote?

  4. I like the Day and A year with the Elements, for content, but maybe a catchier title for it..

YOU GO GIRL! I am also considering joining this movement!

  5. I think Della is correct, the Year and a Day with the Elements needs to be a more hefty tome. (Love that word!)

I’d love to read Beth’s Guide to the Tarot!

  6. Just a comment on your great work space…if that’s yours…love your old library card catalog case. I will change my vote since mine is going to waste…A year and a day with the elements.

  7. My vote is for the Money Magic, as it is certainly needed by many these days! Or, the Tarot book. It would be interesting to read a compiled version of your view on the Tarot.

Good luck with this project, whichever topic you choose!

  8. 1. Dark Mother; 2. Year of Grace; 3. Money Magic

They all look great, but those three, in order of preference.

    Good luck with the project!

  9. Good luck!! All are wonderful ideas but I vote for Beths guide to the tarot. Whatever you end up writing about will be great as you have so much wisdom to teach and share!

  10. Which ever one you write about will be successful. Money Magick is always in demand. Everyone who comes to me for a reading (I do tarot readings), all want to know about money.

    Good Luck! Blessed Be!

  11. My suggestion is to sit down and consider – “if you didn’t have to think about anyone else and could do whatever you wanted without concerns about anything except what your heart most loves and gets excited about” – what would that be? What turns you on the most? Then do that without regrets and without looking back.

  12. I vote for the Guide to the Tarot. It’s so interesting to learn about all the various meanings and sides of the cards and what they can mean for me. Thanks as always!

  13. I would love to read a book by you about all of these subjects but it seems to me that Tarot seems to be what you write most about so it would be the natural first choice and easiest for you to get out in a month. I vote for Tarot first, then Dark Mother, then the Shining Ones.

  14. When I read your list I was immediately drawn to the Graces. Tarot’s been done, money magic is a hot topic these days, but your personal experiences with a year with the Graces–that would be unique.

  15. Do the Tarot Profile subject and you can write about your herbal packages.
    It’s uniquely you, Beth.
    It’s your passion and..
    it will be good advertising!
    good luck

  16. I love how you are inviting us into your process! I get the impression that you actually would be happy working on any of these topics. Are they like your children and you can’t choose one :)? (I’m kinda like that myself so this might be an idea to borrow in some way for choosing future projects!) So my votes: I love elements and Wheel of the Year! I need to do some work on money! I am the least familiar with the Dark Mother out of these topics so I would learn the most for this book! If I had to put them in order the money one would inch out the elements by a hair, just a hair! Bright blessings on this adventure!

  17. I love them all, but I’m going to vote for A Year and a Day with the Elements. I look forward to reading whichever one you decide to do! Have fun!

  18. I vote for a year and a day with the elements. The more we become better acquainted with Nature the more grounded we’ll be – better decisions, more peace, a more wide-open heart . . . .

  19. I would love to see A Year and a Day with the Elements. (And I’m joining you in the insanity by trying to complete NaNoWriMo for the first time.)

  20. Each one of these topics would make a great book on it’s own. If I had to pick the one topic I would be most interested in the moment it would be A Year and a Day of Grace.

  21. Anything you do will be fabulous!
I thought for fun, I would ask my pendulum which topic was favored. It liked several, but got really excited about The Shining Ones. I can think of nothing better than facilitating reconnection to the wonderful mysteries of the Great Mother, especially the faery kingdom.

  22. Beth,
you are a supremem teacher and voice for Tarot! I vore for either the Guide to Tarot or the Soul Card stuff or a combo thereof–a great overview with your witchy point of view plus a little about how to go deeper! just my 2 cents. you’ll be awesome whatever you choose! 😉

  23. Stop eeeking…you can do it. It’s not like you don’t have content! I vote for Dark Goddesses, always. Money magic would be interesting as well….and maybe that’s for the next Contentpalooza!
Good luck, have fun, and enjoy!

  24. Beth: I am torn between: Beth’s Guide to the Tarot or
A Year and a Day with the Elements (the second of which I know very little and would love to know more!). Whatever topic you go with, I look forward to it!

  25. My vote would be for the Year and a Day with the Elements. I know I have been trying to incorporate the elements more into my personal practice and could use some ideas of how to use them everyday!

  26. I vote for year and a day with the elements or magical year. I have recently been reading a few articles about the elements and am becoming more interested in the topic and I can never have too many ideas for sabat rituals!
I’m sure the book will be great.

  27. I would definitely choose “Beth Owl’s Daughter Guide to the Tarot”…as the tarot of the day is what I look forward to the most. I do love all of your writings…but that one is truly the most useful for me on a daily basis. 🙂

  28. Out of all of these marvelous options, which one do you find yourself circling back to? Follow the one that speaks to you most.

    And have fun!

  29. I know you best as a person who likes to introduce people to Tarot and how likes to further the learning of those who already study Tarot. Some people say to write about what you know best…. However, I found myself most curious about The Shining Ones, The Dark Mother – I don’t know anything about these. I was also quite tempted by a the year with elements and the sabats.

Let us all know if you need encouragement along the way 🙂

  30. Beth,
all your ideas are worth a book, however there are already lots of books on your first four items. There are few resources about the other items on your list. Even if the votes are highest on 1. 2. 3. or 4 you may want to consider breaking into a field not already crowded with documentation by picking one of the other topics. I honor and respect your work and know that all of it would be meaningful on all these topics, but it may be even more meaningful to fill a gap on the book shelf by choosing a less traveled path. I vote for 1- Dark Mother, 2 – A Year of Grace, 3 – Shining Ones and 4 – Your Tarot Profile.

  31. I pretty much agree with following your own heart with how you want to spend your time over the next month, but since I asked you if you would put together a tarot e-course, which I and some friends of mine have expressed interest in, I’d probably vote for Beth’s Guide to the Tarot to go with the e-course (you can include the price of the book with the price of the course and make the book available to purchase separately). You go, Girlfriend!

  32. I vote for Beth’s Guide to the Tarot – I’ve always loved your insight and the nuances of each card as you present them are so helpful. I know that which ever you choose, it’ll be wonderful!

Can’t wait for the final product-
    Catalina

  33. My vote has to go to the Dark Mother Goddess. This is something that has always fascinated me, especially now I am in my cronehood. Good Luck and Blessed Be.

    Willow

  34. OK, first choice is: The Elements (whatever it may be entitled)
second choice: The Dark Mother Goddess

And of course, I would be happy to read any and all of these writings. I am sure this project will be magickal.

    Bright blessings,

  35. So many wonderful choices “but” my number one vote is for A Year and a Day with the Elements; number two is for Dark Goddesses and three is for The Shining Ones.
    Blessings.
    Mimi

  36. Here are my preferences, in descending order: (1) Your Tarot Profile, (2) The Magical Year, (3) The Dark Mother, (4) Guide to the Tarot. Exciting project for all of you!
