Gorgeous pictures. We have barred owls on our land and I love to watch them. Sometimes, I catch one napping in a tree during the afternoon. Most of the time, I see them at dusk. Last winter I was blessed with seeing three of them at once. Awesome sight.

have I got an owl story for you. I once had a young great horned end up hiding in my barn for a day. he had some how hurt his wing and I found a local raptor rescue to come and get him and hopefully get him back to health. it was one of the most amazing days I’ve ever had just seeing how huge a young one was and being able to get that close and to be able to help him. unfortunately i never found out what happened to him. I hope and believe that he recovered and was released once more into the wild.
