Tonight, March 29, from 8:30 – 9:30pm, your local time
Join millions of people across the world – switch your lights off for an hour or join a local Earth Hour event to raise awareness for the planet.
Earth Hour is a worldwide grassroots movement uniting people to protect the planet, and is organized by the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF).
Designed to inspire massive awareness on a broad range of environmental issues, Earth Hour was famously started as a lights-off event in Sydney, Australia in 2007. Since then it has grown, with participation from more than 7000 cities and towns worldwide, and the one-hour event continues to remain the key driver of the now larger movement.
Earth Hour is more than just this hour. Uniting behind a common purpose demonstrates that we can make a meaningful difference. Earth Hour is an opportunity to make a personal commitment to protecting our planet, not just for one hour a year, but every day.
Tonight, at 8:30, your local time, turn off all your non-essential lights, the TV, the electronics, and all the other gizmos. Feel the pulse of life and awareness that flows between Mama Gaia, and you, and the millions of like-minded souls who care. We are strong and we can (and must) change the direction of “business as usual.”
Starting with you and me.
Blessings.
