oh, happy birthday to him! hope you are having a lovely celebration for it.
Thanks y’all! We had a very fun day — caught the final Star Wars movie in one of those super-plush cinemas, and (since it’s been out forever) we had the whole place all to ourselves. Then a fabulous meal at what is probably our favorite restaurant in Durham (from our admittedly rather limited experience).
Because John is not a cake person, but a pie person (is it just coincidence that his birthday is National Pie Day??), I always get him a birthday pie. Hit the jackpot this year with his favorite, as prepared by hand just for him, at a local French bakery. YUM.
So anyway, thanks so much for your well wishes. He got a real kick out of seeing this!
